Elmas Altun was born in Bozkır in 1975. She is a graduate of Selçuk University Fine Arts Faculty Traditional Turkish Arts Department. She started her khatt training in 2004, took classes from Hüseyin Öksüz and Fevzi Günüç. Altun participated in group exhibitions in Turkey. She worked as an instructor at public education centers and vocational training courses. Altun continues her unique and free designs in the field of jali diwani at her workshop.
