Habibe Kalafat was born in Kastamonu in 1975. She is a graduate of Uludağ University Faculty of Science and Letters Department of History. Kalafat started studying khatt with Hüseyin Kutlu in 1999 at the Applied Turkish-Islamic Arts Library and received thuluth naskh license from Kutlu. She still attends Hüseyin Kutlu’s specialization classes at Mihrabat Culture and Art Garden, and trains students by giving classes at Ümraniye Municipality Vocational Training Courses and at the art workshop of the municipality.
