Medine Kavak was born in 1977 in Istanbul, Turkey. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Finance from Anadolu University in 2003. In 2010, she began her calligraphy studies under the guidance of Mustafa Cemil Efe. In 2018, she received her ijazah (authorization) in the sülüs and nesih scripts. She continued her advanced studies with her teacher until 2024, after which she began working independently. Her works have been featured in major events such as the 2018 Yeditepe Biennial and the 22nd State Turkish Decorative Arts Competition Exhibition. Kavak currently continues her artistic work from her home studio in Üsküdar, Istanbul.
