Şennur Ülker is an artist, educator, and entrepreneur dedicated to preserving and transmitting the traditional Eyüp Toymaking heritage. She holds an associate degree in Child Development from Istanbul University and is recognized by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism as a Bearer of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Since 2005, she has been actively involved in initiatives aimed at revitalizing the centuries-old Eyüp Toymaking tradition, including her role as a founding member of the Historical Eyüp Toys and Similarities Women’s Cultural Enterprise Cooperative, established with twelve women. Since 2017, Ülker has been the founder of Geleneksel Eyüp Oyuncakçısı (Traditional Eyüp Toymaker), through which she continues her work in production, education, and cultural transmission. In 2018, she founded the Eyüp Toys Museum, creating a dedicated space for the preservation and public presentation of Eyüp Toymaking. By integrating storytelling, play, and traditional toy production, she has developed original workshop models and delivers cultural heritage programs, performances, and educational activities for schools, municipalities, libraries, universities, and cultural institutions across Türkiye. In 2024, she established the Geleneksel Eyüp Oyuncakçısı Publishing House, under which the Bilge Usta and Eyüp Toys book series was published. Through these works, she aims to introduce children to Eyüp Toymaking culture using narrative, characters, and play-based learning. Şennur Ülker continues her artistic, educational, and cultural heritage work in Eyüpsultan, Istanbul.
