After graduating from the philosophy department at Istanbul University, Akar wrote her master’s thesis at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University, titled Hexagonal Tiles in the Early Ottoman Period Tiles Mosques (1299-1453). Many of her artworks have been exhibited in various exhibitions in Turkey. She speaks intermediate English and Italian.
