Gülcan Yaylacı was born in Istanbul in 1981. She continued her education at the Faculty of Business Administration of Anadolu University and received two years of training in the Classical Turkish Decoration Arts Course at Bakırköy Rıfat Ilgaz District Public Library, which she started in 1998. She started her training and service at Semih İrteş’s and Mamure Öz’s Sema Workshop in 2002. She took khatt classes from Khattat Hüseyin Kutlu for two years, and has continued her personal works since 2007. She participated in various group exhibitions both at home and abroad. In 2016, she opened Haliç Art Workshop in Beylikdüzü.
