Mamure Öz was born in Istanbul in 1961. She started her illumination and miniature studies at IU. Süheyl Ünver Workshop in 1976. Öz attended the Turkish decorative arts classes at Topkapı Palace Museum Workshop between 1977-1980, and has been working as a basic training and illumination instructor at this institution since 1982. She received kalem işi training at MSFAU between 1981-1983. Öz took part in the restorations of many historical artifacts in Istanbul and in kalem işi applications of new architectural works. She gave illumination and miniature classes at various institutions and organizations. Öztürk won first prize in marbling and illumination branches in various competitions; and third prize in illumination branch in the international competition organized by the Ministry of Culture of Algeria Republic in 2006. Between 1991-2008, she continued her studies at Sema Workshop she founded with Semih İrteş, and currently continues her artistic works at Nakkaş Decorative Arts Center.
