Nihal İpekçi was born in 1967 in Nevşehir. She is a graduate of Trakya University Restoration Department. She took marbling, cloth dyeing and porcelain decoration classes from Hikmet Barutçugil. She started taking illumination classes at Sevim Kayaoğlu Workshop in 1994, and developed herself in the art with the classes she took from Mamure Öz at Sema Workshop between 1998 and 2003. She took miniature classes from Orhan Dağlı, Nusret Çolpan, Gülbün Mesera and Serap Bostancı, and has been continuing with Reza Hemmatirad since 2009. İpekçi participated in many exhibitions. She gave illumination classes within Bahçeşehir Municipality between 2001 and 2010, and still continues training new students with the illumination classes she gives at a private institution. Rabia Yıldız, Pembe Sinan, Didem Özdağ, Nuray Ersin, Çiğdem Hançerli, DEmet Tutan, Şerife İnal and Ufuk Özbek are students İpekçi trained.
