Armağan Gürel was born in Nuremberg, Germany. She graduated from the Department of Painting Education of Marmara University Atatürk Faculty of Education in 1995. She studied Topkapı Palace Nakkaşhane/Illuminated Manuscript-Miniature Education between 1990-1991 and marbling art education from Hikmet Barutçugil between 1999-2004. In 2007-2009, she graduated from Yıldız Şale Palace Traditional Turkish Arts Kat’ı Art Department with a certificate approved by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey under the direction of Dürdane Ünver-Müjgan Başköylü. In 2014, she received the title of Artist of the Ministry of Culture. She continues to work in the project group called as Dürdane Ünver and also serves as a Visual Arts teacher at the Ministry of Education. She has organized many integrated and personal exhibitions and workshops in the country.
