İrfan Şahin was born in Çanakkale in 1941. He started doing the craft with Master Mustafa Turabi, and sowed the kıspets (leggings that Turkish wrestlers wear) of the most famous wrestlers in Turkey. He was selected as a Living Human Treasure by UNESCO in 2012. Şahin continues his profession by doing model kıspets.
