Mehtap Şahin, born in 1970, started taking khatt classes from Khattat Hasan Çelebi in 1993. She graduated from the illumination course organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism between 2000 and 2002. She received miniature training from Taner Alakuş between 2005-2007, illumination training from Arda Çakmak between 2009-2011. Şahin worked as an illumination instructor in the art courses in Pendik Municipality.
