Safiye Morçay was born in Istanbul in 1961. She is a graduate of Boğaziçi University Business Administration Department. She did her master’s degree at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University Traditional Turkish Arts Illumination Department. She received katı’ training at TBMM Department of National Palaces Traditional Turkish Decorative Arts Education Center. She took part in some activities of Ministry of Culture and Education in the field of Traditional Arts, and in various competitions as a jury member in her field. She participated in many projects and exhibitions both at home and abroad. Morçay currently gives katı’ classes at Classical Turkish Arts Foundation.
